Finding an apprenticeship vacancy does take time. Most apprenticeships commence in September, so ideally prepare your CV and start searching for a potential employer at the start of the new year.
Even if they aren’t currently advertising a vacancy, approaching an employer about an apprenticeship opportunity is a great idea and shows initiative.
If this route hasn’t been successful there are a number of other ways to finding local apprenticeship vacancies. These include:
- Local job centres
- Online Job platforms: JobsApplyNI; Indeed; NIJobs and NIJobFinder
- Google: For example search ‘apprenticeships in Coleraine’
- Employer websites: Local business websites such as Lynas; WD Meats and Roe Park Resort
- Recruitment agencies: Local agencies include Rutledge and Riada
- Social Media platforms: Facebook; Instagram; Twitter and Snapchat
